Every journey has a beginning.
Some begin with a dream. Others begin with a detour you never saw coming.
Looking back, I can see that the path to MissioWay wasn’t built in a single moment. It was shaped over years, through unexpected challenges, quiet victories, countless questions, and God’s faithful presence in places I never would have chosen.
If you’re here for the first time, welcome. I’m so glad you found your way here.
I’m Kate – a wife, mom, follower of Christ, and someone who believes that our greatest purpose is often discovered in the middle of life’s hardest seasons.
Years ago, our family’s world changed when our son was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), a chronic autoimmune-related condition that dramatically affected his ability to eat. Suddenly our lives revolved around doctor’s appointments, procedures, feeding tubes, elimination diets, medications, and searching for answers that often felt just out of reach.
It wasn’t the life we had planned.
But somewhere along that road, God began teaching us lessons that reached far beyond our son’s diagnosis.
He taught us to pay attention.
To ask better questions.
To care for our bodies with intention.
To celebrate small victories.
To trust Him even when we couldn’t see the whole picture.
Most importantly, He reminded us that purpose isn’t something we arrive at someday. It’s something we live every day, one faithful step at a time.
Those experiences changed me.
They sparked a passion for learning about nutrition, wellness, faith, intentional living, and the everyday choices that shape the lives we build. They also gave me a heart for encouraging others who may be walking difficult roads of their own.
That’s why MissioWay exists. A place where the entirety of a person is considered when it comes to figuring out a health journey through mind, body, and spirit.
The word Missio comes from the Latin word for “mission” or “being sent.” I love that image because I believe each of us has been created with purpose. We all have a unique road to walk, gifts to share, and opportunities to bring hope wherever we are.
MissioWay (a play off the phrase “Missio Dei” – the mission of God) is about walking that road with intention.
My heart is to share what we’ve learned through years of navigating chronic illness, researching nutrition and wellness, and seeking a more intentional way of living. If I can help another mom connect puzzle pieces in her child’s health story, build a stronger health foundation for her family, or simply offer hope for the next step, then MissioWay is doing exactly what I hoped it would.
Here you’ll find stories from our family’s journey, practical ideas for healthier living, reflections on faith, encouragement for parents, thoughts on nutrition and wellness, favorite resources, and honest conversations about the beauty and difficulty of living with purpose in everyday life.
Some posts may make you think.
Some may teach you something practical.
Others may simply remind you that you’re not walking alone.
My hope is that every article points back to something bigger than myself – that it encourages you to take your own next faithful step, wherever God has you today.
Whether you’re navigating a medical journey, seeking better health, longing for a deeper faith, or simply looking for encouragement in ordinary life, I hope this becomes a place where you can breathe, learn, and leave feeling hopeful.
Thank you for being here at the very beginning.
I can’t wait to see where this journey leads.
Welcome to MissioWay.
